It’s difficult to know how you’re going to respond when your loved one passes. Preparing for it beforehand is very wise.
Perhaps more importantly, government forms surrounding a passing require more information about your loved one’s life than you might expect. If your loved one can still communicate, their help will make filling out forms considerably easier.
To prepare for your loved one’s passing:

Fill out as much as possible. We will securely retain your loved one’s information until they pass.
In the future, Compassionate will allow you to make arrangements for your own passing. You will be able to make your wishes known and set aside money to ease the burden for your loved ones.
“And no one ever told me about the laziness of grief…. Not only writing but even reading a letter is too
much.”

FAQs
What is included in your cremation service?
Our standard cremation includes transportation, necessary paperwork, cremation, and return of the ashes, along with a death certificate.
Do I have to purchase an urn through you?
Not at all. We provide a temporary urn at no cost. During the checkout process, you’re welcome to choose a special urn if you wish.
Who can legally sign the cremation contract?
According to BC law, only the executor named in the will can authorize cremation (if there is no will, then the person closest in legal relation). Contact us to determine whether you are the authorized person to sign for the cremation, as per section 5 of the CIFSA.
Can I witness the cremation?
Yes. We offer a witnessed cremation option for those who wish to be present for an extra charge.
Cadence Executor Assistant
Sadly, when a loved one passes, the most significant distress for the executor usually comes from the tasks involved in closing. We want to change that.
Included with your cremation, Cadence is a secure, easy-to-use digital tool that helps you manage the tasks of settling an estate. The software gives you step-by-step guidance, informative resources, phone and email support, and—most importantly—organization of all your tasks so you can find peace of mind. The market cost is over $600, but our buying power allows our clients to access Cadence’s services at no charge.
How Executor Assistant works:
When we return the ashes, you’ll receive a printed invitation to activate your Cadence account.
You’ll fill out a brief questionnaire to generate your personalized estate checklist.
The software will walk you through curated steps with easy instructions and autofill tools.
Cadence’s Support Specialists will be available to help you by phone, chat, or email.
